Harvey Norman is looking for a Senior Interaction Designer e Design Manager, this role is a part of a forward-thinking team working together to create the best omni-channel retail experience in one of the biggest retailers in Australia. As the Senior User Interface Designer, you’ll tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs for millions of Harvey Norman customers.

• Be evidently passionate about user interface and interaction design
• Be a natural problem solver and get excited about complex scenarios
• Have a strong sense of empathy for the customer and curiosity around customer behaviour
• Up to date with the latest industry material within UI design, interaction design and associated space
• Have the ability to work within a small team, but also the ability to work autonomously and drive your own projects
• A fast learner, keen to understand the bigger picture and impact of the work you do

• Design user interactions and interfaces that are simple, intuitive and elegant
• Conduct customer research and testing to inform and validate design decisions
• Work collaboratively and apply UX practices within the cross-disciplinary Agile delivery team
• Be involved in and facilitate workshops and ideation sessions
• Experiment with conceptual ideas through prototypes and proof of concept exercises
• Contribute to improving on our UX design process, standards and frameworks
• Help create and maintain our design language system

• 5+ years experience designing innovative digital experiences for services and products across desktop and mobile
• Strong visual design skills (and expertise over the software used by designers such as Adobe CC, Sketch, Invision, Axure etc.)
• Experience designing user interfaces and using design frameworks and patterns to ensure scalability and consistency across screen sizes, devices and channels
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end UX process and how interface design fits in
• Proven ability to distill complex problems into clean solutions
• Practical understanding of how good UI and Interaction Design contributes to delivering better experiences
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end coding technologies will be a bonus as will be prior experience in working with Agile delivery teams
