About the role  

Harvey Norman’s Information Technology Department’s core focus is to deliver innovative IT solutions by delivering crucial projects to achieve the strategic goals of the business.

Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, you will ensure the seamless operation and security of the organisation’s network environment, enabling efficient communication and connectivity for employees across all locations. You will manage a team of network professional’s and provide technical leadership to ensure the reliable and secure operation of network services.

Responsibilities include; 

  • Manage the security, performance, availability and health of the organization’s network including analysis, planning and design
  • Manage day to day objectives and give consistent feedback on a regular basis both individually, and in team meetings
  • Evaluate and recommend network technologies, solutions, and upgrades to enhance performance, scalability, and security
  • Accountable for the network infrastructure life cycle from planning, sourcing, supplier management, operational excellence whilst balancing cost, demand and risk
  • Develop and deploy strategic services and capabilities, sponsor initiatives that continuously improve scalability, availability, performance and adoption of new technologies to deliver increased business value
  • Champion the best interests of the team and the business by managing key stakeholders including CIO, InfoSec, Service Owners, Product Owners and Enterprise Architects
  • Provide significant input into architecture, strategy and roadmaps; recognising impact on customers and business objectives
  • Take ownership of new initiatives and confidently represent them in relevant Senior Management forums.

About you  

As a technical leader, you will bring extensive experience in managing, developing and mentoring Network Services teams responsible for production systems. Your expertise includes a deep understanding of network topology concepts such as SD-WAN, coupled with knowledge of related infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balances.

You will also have: 

  • Experience in project methodologies during large scale, complex and critical projects
  • Technical credibility and independent judgement and decision making
  • Knowledge of contemporary ITSM processes and practices, and experience in implementing them, including adapting to emerging service models, as well as continuous improvement and delivery
  • Experience in managing relationships with product and service vendors
  • Understanding of Cyber Security and associated operational preventative and remedial measures
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with strong ability to influence both IT and relevant business partners.
