About the role  

Harvey Norman’s Information Technology Department’s core focus is to deliver innovative IT solutions by delivering crucial projects to achieve the strategic goals of the business.

As an API Developer you will work on the design, development, and enhancement of the API Integration platform.

Responsibilities include; 

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of further adoption of the Azure API Management platform
  • Implement new integrations to internal and external end points
  • Update the existing design artefacts with proposed changes
  • Implement proposed changes including liaising with testing, development and operations teams
  • Maintain existing applications
  • Adhere to standards and guidelines in the governance framework

About you  

As an experienced API Developer, you will have proven experience developing end to end features across Microsoft .NET and Azure ecosystems, including development and authentication technologies. You will demonstrate a proven ability to conduct system analysis and design, estimation and deliver realistic solutions within tight deadlines and commitments.

You will also have: 

  • Experience working with Microsoft .NET (C#) and development of RESTful Web APIs
  • Experience with API Management systems such as Azure API Management (APIM)
  • Knowledge of API design principles, including versioning, security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with API authentication and security protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID, SAML and Mutual TLS;
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Application Integration patterns and SOA;
  • Ability to integrate internal and external systems using Web services, and REST APIs
  • Ability to work in the Atlassian suite of products;. JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD systems
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • The ability to work within a team to meet strict deadlines  
  • The confidence and communication skills to present solutions and ideas
